Dr. H.M.I.U. Karunaratne, the current Director of Polonnaruwa Hospital, has been officially designated as the Acting Director of Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, effective immediately.
This new responsibility has been assigned alongside his ongoing duties at Polonnaruwa Hospital.
The appointment was authorized earlier today by the Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Anil Jasinghe.
Reports indicate that this decision follows the immediate removal of the former Acting Director of Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
