The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged victorious in the 2024 Sri Lanka General Election, securing a commanding majority in Parliament. According to the final results announced by the Election Commission, the NPP won 159 seats, including 18 bonus seats, by polling over 6.8 million votes, representing 61.56% of the total votes cast.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will serve as the main opposition, winning 40 seats, including 5 bonus seats, with 1.9 million votes (17.66%).
Other key results include:
- Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK): 8 seats (1 bonus)
- New Democratic Front (NDF): 5 seats (2 bonus)
- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP): 3 seats (1 bonus)
Several smaller parties also made it into Parliament, each securing one seat:

- All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC)

This landslide victory positions the NPP as a dominant force in Sri Lankan politics, while the SJB solidifies its role as the primary opposition in the tenth Parliament.
