President Anura Kumara Dissanayake Arrives in Dubai for World Governments Summit 2025

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his delegation landed at Dubai International Airport today (10) to participate in the prestigious World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025, set to take place from February 11 to 13 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The delegation received a warm welcome from Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade, along with other senior officials.

Additionally, Sri Lanka’s Chargé d’Affaires to the UAE, Thakshila Arnolda, and Consul General to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Alexi Gunasekera, were present to greet the President and his team.

As part of his visit, President Dissanayake is scheduled to meet with Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Master Investment Group and the Ruler’s Representative for Ras Al Khaimah. Their discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and the UAE.

Later in the evening, the President will attend the exclusive ‘TIME 100 Gala Dinner’ at the iconic Museum of the Future in Dubai, an event celebrating global influencers and leaders.

Accompanying the President on this visit is Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, who is expected to take part in key diplomatic and economic discussions.
