In a major boost to the US aerospace industry, Qatar Airways is set to purchase up to 210 aircraft from Boeing, a landmark deal valued at approximately $96 billion. The announcement came from US President Donald Trump during his visit to the Middle East, according to a report by the BBC.
Described as the largest order ever placed for Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner jets, the agreement is expected to significantly benefit the US job market. The White House stated that the transaction will help sustain around 154,000 American jobs for each year of production.
While the news has sparked global attention, both Qatar Airways and Boeing have yet to release official statements regarding the deal.
