Sarath Ganegoda has been appointed as the new Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, effective today. Alongside his appointment, a new Board of Directors has also been named to lead the country’s national carrier.

About Sarath Ganegoda:
A seasoned business leader, Mr. Ganegoda currently holds the position of Group Executive Director at Hayleys PLC, a prominent multinational company, and serves as the Deputy Chairman of Alumex PLC. He joined the Hayleys Group in 2007, quickly rising through the ranks to become a key member of the Group Management Committee and the Boards of both Hayleys and Alumex.
Ganegoda is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka and a member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants of Australia. He also holds an MBA from the Post Graduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Throughout his career, he has held several senior management roles both in Sri Lanka and overseas.
This new leadership team is expected to bring significant expertise to SriLankan Airlines, as the national carrier navigates a critical period in its operations.
