Sri Lanka to Repatriate Over 20 Criminal Suspects Hiding Overseas, Says Police

Sri Lankan authorities have initiated active measures to repatriate individuals accused of serious crimes who have escaped to foreign countries, according to the Sri Lanka Police.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manatunga confirmed today (May 4) that plans are in progress to bring back more than 20 such fugitives currently believed to be residing in countries such as the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), India, and Canada.

Addressing a press conference in Colombo, SSP Manatunga emphasized the ongoing coordination with international law enforcement agencies to ensure the suspects are returned to Sri Lanka to face legal proceedings.
