Yevan David Claims Historic Win at EuroFormula Open in Portugal, Boosts Team Motopark’s 2025 Campaign

Sri Lankan motorsport sensation Yevan David captured a sensational victory in Race 2 of the 2025 EuroFormula Open Championship, held at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, Portugal, this Sunday. The win not only represents David’s first triumph of the season but also brings Team Motopark their much-anticipated maiden success of the 2025 campaign.

Emerging as one of the standout contenders for this year’s EuroFormula Open (EFO) title, David delivered a commanding performance under clear skies in Portimão. His victory in Race 2 firmly places him among the frontrunners for the championship and gives a crucial boost to Team Motopark’s season ambitions.

“We’ve been putting in a lot of hard work throughout the weekend,” Yevan shared after the race. “It’s incredibly satisfying to see everything come together this morning. The competition is definitely tougher this year, and I’m excited for the battles ahead. I aim to stay right at the top!”

Starting from a favorable position due to the reversed grid format for Race 2 — where the top six finishers from Race 1 swap positions — Joss Garfias secured pole, followed by Stack, with David, Shin, Pearson, and de la Torre lining up behind. Similar to the opening race, Tymek Kucharczyk faced another setback at the start, stalling once again.

Yevan David’s remarkable drive not only electrified fans but also set the tone for an exciting season ahead in the EuroFormula Open Championship.
